Langham Scholar Sofanit Abebe asked for prayer at Langham Partnership UKI’s Vision Day last month. Sofanit, who is from Ethiopia, is currently studying for a PhD in New Testament at Edinburgh University.
She said: “I would appreciate your prayers in four areas. First, my studies, that I would be able to focus on writing with clarity of thought, and that I’ll pass my Viva, which I hope would be June or July 2020.
“I’d also appreciate your prayers for my family, for my daughters, my three and four year olds, as well as my husband. He is currently engaged in working on a book on Christology, in our language Amharic. Pray that he’d be able to write and focus as well.

Pray for Ethiopia
“And thirdly, Ethiopia Graduate School of Theology (EGST), we’ve now started a preaching programme. Everything that’s being done at EGST is truly a work of God: I appreciate your prayers for EGST.
“Lastly, Ethiopia: I would be grateful if you could remember Ethiopia in your prayers. We are in a transition, a very difficult transition as a nation. There is a new evangelical Prime Minister in office and he’s bringing so much change, positive change. Your prayers are appreciated, thank you, God bless.”
