Langham operates in over 100 countries around the world, including in places that are under great pressure, but are full of potential.

Across Central Asia, Langham Preaching runs hundreds of training workshops every year for pastors and leaders who need to be equipped.
‘P’* is the coordinator for Langham Preaching in a Central Asian country. He recently shared why the programme is needed in his region.
Hear from ‘P’ in Central Asia
“I’ve heard their sermons, and they really need this training!”
‘So said the regional overseer of one of the largest denominations in our country, as we were planning training for the pastors in his region. We agreed to hold the launch session during their annual conference, but at the last minute it was called off. They felt that the spiritual momentum that was building would be spoiled if they stopped to think about preaching.

‘One of the greatest challenges we face in our region is that many pastors aren’t interested in learning how to preach from the Bible. That’s mostly because they’ve never heard faithful and clear Biblical preaching and seen how helpful it is.
Authority in Scripture
‘In the post-Soviet culture, the power and authority is in the leader, not in the Scriptures. The first stage of our work is helping churches to see that the Bible speaks clearly and relevantly. It is God’s chosen instrument to save, perfect and preserve his people.
‘Only when this appreciation of the Word is in place do pastors see the need for training. It’s a long road.’
Please pray for the ongoing work on Langham Preaching across Central Asia. These quotes came from a Langham Preaching postcard.
