Will you prayerfully consider investing in the next generation of Langham Multipliers?

My name is Dwi Handayani, a Langham Scholar, and I would love to share how ‘Equip One: Reach Many’ has shaped my own life and ministry.

I live in Bandung, Indonesia, where I serve as director of the Theology Masters programme at a University. I have the privilege of investing in pastors and church leaders, equipping them to understand, preach and teach God’s Word accurately, faithfully, and with confidence. I also serve as director for Langham Preaching Asia and South Pacific, a work that spans 25 countries.

What excites me most is seeing the ripple effect.

Every time one pastor or Bible teacher is equipped, they go on to influence countless others. That is the heart of Langham’s ministry: one life equipped to reach many. We call them Langham Multipliers.

Below is an ‘airmail’ letter from Milo, from the Philippines.

Langham invested in Milo, and now he’s leading bible studies for his fellow tricycle (taxi) drivers and impacting many people. I hope Milo’s story encourages you as much as mine has encouraged me.

Langham invested in me to complete my PhD, and today, I write culturally relevant books, train Bible teachers throughout Asia and the South Pacific, and equip pastors to teach God’s Word for generations to come.

I am deeply grateful to people like you who invested in one person—me—so that many others could be equipped to know, teach and live God’s Word. Yet, opportunities to invest in future leaders rely on funding.

Corruption, war, violence, instability, and economic downturns. These are just some of the crises affecting countries across my continent, Africa.

In these areas of great poverty, pressure, yet huge potential – what is the answer?

I believe it’s the local Church.

As the Word is preached, lives are changed, communities are transformed. I’m the Associate Director for Langham Preaching in Africa, and we work hard to train local leaders to preach the Bible faithfully.

Local leaders truly understand the issues their fellowships and their countries are facing. That’s why we are passionately committed to equipping indigenous pastors and church leaders with the training they need to preach with clarity, conviction, and faithfulness.

Last year, we equipped over 5,000 pastors and lay leaders in 24 African nations. This year, we want to reach more pastors, strengthen more churches, and see more communities across Africa come alive with the hope and truth of the Gospel.

Will you prayerfully consider joining us in raising £20,000 so that next year, a further 500 indigenous leaders in Africa can receive the training they desperately need?

Langham training impacts the lives of the church members, who then impact society. They become salt and light in their own community.

According to independent statistics*, after Langham Preaching training, 82% of congregants find sermons easier to understand, and preachers’ use of proper Bible study skills triples.

And 91% of those who complete all three levels of Langham Preaching training go on to train 61 others!

So, if 500 more people across Africa receive vital training, that could result in nearly 30,000 more people learning to preach God’s word clearly, faithfully and relevantly.
