Celebrating the Launch of Rev Dr Chris Wright’s Website

We are thrilled to announce the launch of ChristopherJHWright.com, a digital hub dedicated to the remarkable life and work of Rev Dr Chris Wright, Global Ambassador for Langham Partnership.

Friends, supporters, and followers of both Chris and Langham will now have an accessible and dynamic platform to explore Chris’ extensive contributions as a theologian, author, and speaker. This website makes his valuable resources more accessible to a global audience.

In the recent webinar launch, Chris shared insights about the creation of this site, expressing gratitude to his dedicated team who brought the project to fruition. He also shared memories of working with the late John Stott, whose legacy continues to inspire.

Stott’s writing retreat in Wales

Chris was speaking from a cottage in Wales which was Stott’s writing retreat for many years. This idyllic scene was the place where Stott wrote significant works such as the ‘Lausanne Covenant’, a statement produced from a landmark gathering (in 1974) of over 2,000 evangelical leaders from 150 countries.

On the site, visitors can delve into Chris’ books, including ‘The Mission of God’, his commentary on Exodus, and other publications that have been translated into several languages. These works are not just academic contributions; they are tools for equipping Christians to engage with the Bible and apply its truths in their daily lives.

The website also hosts Chris’ articles, sermons and lectures. From links to his All Souls sermons, to his contributions to the Lausanne Movement, this platform brings together decades of Chris’ work. He highlighted that all royalties from his books published since 2001, just as with Stott’s, are given to Langham Literature.

Global endorsements

Webinar attendees were given a guided tour of the website and friends gave personal endorsements: Pieter Kwant (former Langham Literature Director), David Turner (retired judge and lay reader at All Souls, Langham Place), Myrto Theocharous (Langham Scholar and Old Testament professor) and Bayar Garamtseren (Langham Scholar and church leader in Mongolia).

Ben Homan, the outgoing Director of Langham US, shared some thoughts at the end of the webinar, followed by a prayer of blessing.

He pointed out that the website was not Chris’ idea, and that actually, the website is not about Chis Wright!

‘It’s not about Chris!’

“Those of you who’ve listened to Chris’s preaching or teaching or have read his books know that this is about God’s story.

“… It’s been about scripture. It’s been about God’s story, you being a dutiful writer, faithful to the text. So it’s not Chris’s idea. It’s not about him.”
